Dave Lachapelle

David Lachapelle brings seven years of experience to web development, always having had a keen interest in new technologies and their applications. While studying for his degree at the University of Guelph, he was involved in many professional projects including the co-founding of web technology firm, Reality in Repair, in 2005 and eventually working as a lead programmer at Barking Dog Studios in Guelph. Upon graduation in 2007, Dave wasted no time making a name for himself, developing a website for a local artist that would go on to win several multimedia and technology awards from RDG Ontario for it’s innovative horizontally-scrolling layout. During this time he would also take part in the development of several high-profile projects such as websites for the University of Guelph Athletics Department, Wilfrid Laurier University, and Johnson & Johnson’s Triaminic, Immodium, and Tylenol sites.

These assignments only served to sharpen his PHP and MySQL programming skills until he was hired as a systems administrator by MRX Associates in 2008. There, he was quick to make a positive impression; his keen insight in high-performance Apache and MySQL setups, paired with his programming skills, was considered indispensable in developing a new Content Management System that is in use today for the CFL Online Network. His system planning and implementation work there would earn him an early promotion to Director of Technology overseeing all development at MRX Associates.

Engaged to marry this September and having recently broken ground on his first house, Dave continues to drive forward even outside the workplace, all the while looking for some new toy to play with. It is his passion for technology that defines him as a person, and ensures his future in web development will be a bright one.
